Derek Kawleski

Assistant Coach - JV

Derek started playing hockey at the age of 5 and was immediately drawn to everything the sport had to offer. He grew up in the Waukesha Youth Hockey Association and can't say enough about all the great people he's met playing this game – from teammates, to coaches, as well as all the parents. Derek says he didn't necessarily realize it at the time, but the game of hockey taught him all sorts of lessons along the way.

Derek played two years of high school hockey at Arrowhead before suffering an injury that ended his playing career. He graduated from the University of Wisconsin – Madison in 2010 with a finance degree and is now working as a risk analyst for Liberty Mutual.

Derek says he always knew he would be back in hockey in some capacity and is thrilled to have the opportunity to come back to Arrowhead in a coaching role. He's excited to be a part of such a great program again and eager to continue his coaching career under the talented coaching staff here at Arrowhead.
